Last few days

Here is a LONG update of what we have been up to the last few days.

Saturday, was pretty much a relaxing day. Kaylie and I did go to Julie's Wedding Shower, aka Party, and Jeff and Chase went to their final tux fitting. But when those were all over we just came home.

Sunday, Children's Church went great. The kids learned about Abram and how God sent him to leave with no directions, no map, and only his faith. Jeff and I, did that with the kids, but we gave them clues that sent them around the church, which they really enjoyed. The Ed director was so impressed with them she even kept them to use for the next service. Over all, I don't know why I was so nervous, it went great, but I am not ready to do the 11am service yet, where there is about 25+ kids instead of 8.

Sunday, was also my mother-in-laws birthday. So, when we finished church, we left and attempted to make it to her house before they got out of church. But, we had to make a quick stop at Walmart, and right after we left Walmart we realized we didn't have Jeff's phone anymore. Jeff and I were going all over the place trying to find where it was, and trying to remember where we last had it, which was in the car. Finally, we just gave customer service my phone number and left. We ended up taking so long to find the phone, we didn't make it to her house, and but was able to go eat lunch with her. Which we did find the phone, when we got home for the night Jeff opened his door, and it was laying in our grass. Apparently when we Jeff got out of the car to get something before we left it had fallen out and neither of us realized it.

After we ate lunch we went to my dads house for dinner to celebrate my nephews birthday. We played in the pool, played badminton, and visited. Kaylie did GREAT in the pool, she swam under water all by herself, no floats, noodle or anything, just daddy right there. We were both very impressed. Swim lessons did miracles for her!! We ate dinner, and while cleaning up, the kids played outside in his HUGE backyard. They had all been getting along great and none of them were crabby even though my kids did not have a nap or even rest.
Well, Jeff walked outside to check on the kids and Chase starts screaming/crying in pain (he didn't start until he saw Jeff)!!! I immediately thought he had touched the grill my dad just finished cooking ribs off of and got burned. Jeff brings him inside and he has blood running from his eyebrow down to his shirt. I check the cut out and say we are going to the ER. I go outside to check what had actually happened, come back inside and everyone was going back and forth weather to take him to the ER or not, my dad gets him and lays him down on his lap, checks it out and off we go to the ER.
I am still not exactly sure WHAT happened, and probably will not know exactly, but I know it had to deal with I think what is called a boom bat and my nephew. The boom bat itself is not dangerous, but this particular one was cracked/broke around the edges (where blue and green is). I think what may have happened is that Chase walked behind my nephew who was in the process of swinging it. Which is pretty normal for Chase to do. I am still confused on why Kaylie didn't come with him. Normally she comes running and freaking out, if someone is bleeding/hurt, especially with Chase. Well Kaylie, went to hang out more with Uncle Michael, soon-to-be Aunt Julie, Granny & Papa, while Jeff and I took Chase to the ER.

Chase did wonderful at the ER and of course charmed EVERY nurse in there! This was the first time I had ever taken the kids to this ER and we were VERY pleased!! We were only there for about a hour and a half, they showed him everything before they touched him, and even explained to HIM what they were going to do. The only thing is, our Pediatrician doesn't go to this hospital. He ended up getting six stitches right above the eyebrow. They asked us if we wanted them to use the Papoose (the thing I was so nervous about at the ENT), and we let them know he had been in it before and hated it. They had it ready just in case, but Jeff just held his hands and the doctor did what she needed to do. Luckily, Jeff was there to hold him down, I don't know what it is about doctors and doing things to Chase, but I don't handle it very well. I had to sit down after they put in his first stitch. It was funny though, the first stitch that the doctor put in Chase said ouch while the doctor was putting it in, but it probably did hurt because the numbing medicine wasn't really in that spot very well. Well after that, every time she went to touch him he said ouch, so the doctor told him she would tell him when to say ouch. So, she would put the stitch in, and tell him to say ouch, and he did!!! He did so well, they let him get THREE things out of the treasure box, which they said they normally only let them get one. This has not slowed him down at all!! He is still the same energetic boy as always. He has complained of a headache, but pretty much just before bedtime. He has got one of the stitches out, but it was right next to another, so it is still staying closed. My dad has thrown everyone of the boom bats away, broke or not!

This week, I am busy trying to get everything ready to turn in Saturday for the Kidsignment Sale, we get to meet with Kaylies teachers Thursday, and Friday is Kaylies first day of school, and Chase gets the stitches out. Chase doesn't start school until Sept 3.

Hope everyone had good weekend and a good week so far!
