IT SNOWED!!!!

This might not be too exciting for some, but for us it was AWESOME!!!

We have not seen an actual snow since last January, and it wasn't much. We had a wedding that day. That morning we went and got the kids hair cut and it started snowing. After they were done we didn't have enough time to let them play, so we told them they could play after the wedding (it was still snowing when we went into the wedding), well by the time we were out everything had melted. But, normally if we get snow, that is what happens.

It started about noon on Sunday and ended about 7pm that night. Jeff and I didn't think it was going to do much, so we went on with our normal after church Sunday Routine. Lunch with his parents and the to the grocery store. When we finished lunch, Jeff and I realized this was not our normal snow, and quickly went to the grocery store so we could get home. Of course leaving the kids at Granny & Papas, because those of you with kids know that kids+grocery store NEVER equals quick. The kids were excited they got to play in the snow (I think have a snowball fight) with their neighbors. I was surprised to still find Milk & Bread on the shelves!!!! Yes, people really do freak out when they say snow and go empty the shelves.

By this time we had already realized all our wood was outside uncovered and in a house that is totally electric, that is not going to help us keep warm if power goes out! Luckily Jeff's brother was nice enough to let us borrow some and we told him we would get our truck and head over since we were in my car. Well, we got home, and I was afraid to pull into our driveway for fear of no stopping and going into the garage. Would you? To the right is what we came home to (I am at the top of my driveway). Jeff's truck was also stuck, and not going anywhere. His brother was nice, and brought some to us though. :)

The kids got bundled into 4 layers of clothing and we all went outside and played in the snow. We tried to slide down our hill, but it wasn't working too well, so we mainly played but also, built a snowman (which was knocked over with a snowball), had a snowball fight, and made snow angels. I had fun "ice skating" down our driveway!!

We then came inside warmed up the kids and got them dinner, found out that schools were closed, and shortly after that Jeff and I ended up both getting sick, and pretty much at the same time. Not sure if it was a stomach virus the kids had a few days before or lunch. For some reason, lately if I eat at a Mexican Restaurant (other than Taco Bell, weird I know), I end up getting sick.

Jeff woke up the next morning feeling fine, I on the other hand, did not recover as quick, and still do not feel 100%. So he took the kids outside to play, this time with the CAMERA!!! ENJOY!

Snowball fighting:

Sledding by themselves:

Sledding together and then crashing.

Eating snow, both did their fair share

Making Snow Angels:

All in all, we ended up getting about 6 inches of snow and losing power for less than 5 min.
Now are looking temperatures in the 70's this weekend. CRAZY!!!
