Well, Chase started school on September 3. He is doing great, LOVES going, and since he doesn’t go everyday he actually pitches a little fit while Kaylie and I are getting ready. The teacher has enlisted him as “helper,” since he is so calm and easy going. She said he actually helps the other children because of his demeanor. As of now, I do not see him changing classrooms, which stinks!! I have seen some changes at home, and not good ones. Since he is with the two year olds, he has started talking more like a baby it had started prior to him starting school, and I even warned the teacher not to let him, but she doesn’t know his regular voice, so can’t really help. Then Monday his tummy was upset, so I decided it would be better to put a pull up on at night while he slept. Last month, he would have pitched a fit because he is not a baby, well, last night we had no problems, and WANTED to wear it. I think because mainly everyone in his class is in Pull ups or a diaper. Oh well, at least he is getting the routine of going to school and being able to have to kid to kid interaction. Click here to see pictures from his first day of school.
Kaylie is doing ok in school. I haven’t directly talked to the teacher, but I sense she has had a few more bad days than good lately, but she really doesn’t want to talk about them. I think she would rather socialize than listen to the teacher, clean, sleep, etc. We have had a few days where she cries because she does not want to go to school, and even where Jeff had to physically pick her up and put her on the school bus. I do know she is refusing to take a rest at school, and has been extremely cranky when she gets home. I guess it is not so cool to rest at school anymore. We get “progress reports” on the 17th, and that should tell us something. Her asthma has also started up again, which probably could be attributing to some of the school problems, because we have noticed some attitude problems at home also.
