Well, that is what Kaylies Teacher told us yesterday when we met for our first Parent Teacher Conference of the school year. She is beyond ready for Kindergarten, and will have no problem! It really was a boost of confidence for us knowing that Kaylie is doing so well. In Pre-K, they do not give out letter grades. They have a form the teacher fills out in a few different areas: Social & Emotional, Language & Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Creative Expression, and Physical Devolpment. The teacher checks either As Expected or Needs Development, and then makes comments on each section. In each section Kaylie got As Expected, even though Mrs. Connie did comment that if there was a box for Exceeds Expectations she would have checked that on some areas. I think the biggest shock for us yesterday was the teacher telling us that most of the time when the class goes to the gym/outside to play, Kaylie will go over and read books to the Special Needs kids, and "plays" with them. She has never once brought that up when she tells me about her day. I think the teacher also mentioned that Zach is in that class, which is a little boy who she talks a lot about, but we have never met. I did ask her today if she played with one of the kids and she immedately asked me how I knew about him.
We are also beyond ready for our VACATION and ready for a little break from "normal life." We leave this Friday and return next Wednesday! Visiting family and friends, and going to see Mickey, Princesses, and of course "Sissy's Castle." Which is what Chase Calls the Cinderella castle; everytime a movie comes on, he freaks out "Sissy, sissy your castle."
I am also beyond ready for it to snow!! If it is going to be this cold outside, we should at least get some snow to go along with it. Neither one of my kids have been able to ever "play" in the snow. I think we would all have a blast to make a snowman, slide down the hills, and make snow angels!! Heck, the kids even slide down our hills without snow!! Then of course come inside by a warm fire and have hot chocolate! YUM!!!
Hope everyone is staying warm and healthy!!!
